when luke solomon got in touch and said he wanted to work with local talk we felt both honoured and happy, especially since we have been fans for a long time and mats actually booked him to his raw fusion club in the late 90s. he has been around long enough to be considered a legend within the scene. we couldnt agree more. lost channels, a 130 bpm piano driven and punk-dubby new york inspired house track comes in two versions. the raw & stripped version is exactly what the name says, sharp snares & hi-hats, piano chords, a driving rhythm with lukes trademark percussion sprinkled on top. the live piano version is actually the original version and is peppered with more of everything. bubbly fx, more of that staccato piano and of course that muscular bassline. for remix duties it is the return of an old local talk friend, wil maddams. it seems like wil has spent some time in detroit since last time. this remix sounds like something that would come straight out of the d, his clever drum programming holds this track together with its deep pads and bubbling bassline. it is a retro (but fresh) techno jam for 2014.

datassette aka john davies has been recording music for over a decade, carving out a niche as a respected purveyor of electro and electronica. he has recorded and self-released an impressive discography from cd-r, net-labels and small independents, but it was his album for ai records in 2008 that first brought him to our attention. he has also remixed the likes of röyksopp, mark archer and al tourettes. datassette continues apollos tradition of releasing rich, musical electronica and follows on nicely from classic releases from the likes of robert leiner, biosphere, david morley and andrea parker.
home invasion is the new label from real tone man franck roger, a man whose career has scaled the full depths of house music over the past decade or so. evidently seeking a new challenge, the parisian s new imprint promises to adhere to a vehemently underground way of working, with every ep upfront released on vinyl-only terms and produced exclusively on analogue equipment. ogers re-tracing of his roots pays dividends too, and whats most striking about the labels debut outing, the simply-titled home invasion 02 ep, is how very different it sounds to vintage real tone planes. gone are the whimsical, celestial deep house hues so favoured by the latter, and in there place is a series of cuts that expertly toe the line between house and techno without resorting to generic soundscapes

luca lozano, owner of klasse recordings presents this majestic 4-track ep on optimo trax. inspired by the past but sounding the antithesis of retro. in his own words.... the optimo trax ep was born out of a time when i was listening to a lot of old bleep house and rave, early 90s uk stuff. growing up in sheffield i was lucky enough to spend some time in warp records when it was still a record store and being around this music and the people that made it must have somehow embedded itself into my psyche. listening to pirate radio stations like fantasy fm as a teenager helped shape my musical interests as they are today and i guess this ep is somehow a reflection of that education, i wanted to make a collection of music that sounded like it was related to a certain place and time and in effect confirm my own identity within its context.
maeve 03 is mano le toughs debut on the label, and his first original music since his album >changing days< in spring 2013. tempus ep consists of 3 very different tracks, which showcase the different sides of manos productions. title track tempus is a warm melodic burner. return to yoz certainly a dancefloor moment. sorry is a useless word is mano the haus romantiker, returning to a style reminiscent of his album.
